The choice for Ecmanage and the app

The need for an online ordering system mainly came from larger customers who wanted to order more efficiently. A previous system proved too complex in practice, after which Ecmanage was selected. The user-friendly app in particular was the deciding factor. Customers can now place orders independently throughout the year using an annual budget, which provides greater visibility and a better distribution of workload.

Convenience for employees

Customers respond very positively to the ability to order via the app. They appreciate not having to sit down at a laptop or computer in the evening to place an order through a website. For example, when someone on-site notices that their safety shoes are worn out, they can immediately order a new pair via the app. The available budget is automatically updated in the process. If an item is in stock, it can even be collected in-store the same evening. It hardly gets any easier than that.

When employees still want to try something on in-store, Van Roekel encourages them to place the order themselves via the app. This ensures the request is submitted correctly straight away, budgets are processed automatically, and users become familiar with the system more quickly. New users or companies are also provided with a brief guide to ensure a smooth transition and to minimise questions.
This also delivers internal benefits. Whereas orders used to be noted on paper or passed on by telephone, a clear overview is now received by email showing exactly what has been ordered. This makes the ordering process less prone to errors and easier to manage.

The updated app

Van Roekel’s customers have worked with both the old and the new Ecmanage app and clearly notice the difference. The new app provides better overview and is more intuitive to use. The balance is visible in every menu, so users immediately know where they stand. It is also easy to switch between sections such as home, ordering, and the shopping basket at the bottom of the screen. This makes the app more pleasant and user-friendly.

For Van Roekel, the app is not only a practical tool in the ordering process but also a clear added value for customers. This became particularly evident when a client mentioned they had been approached by another party promoting a similar ordering system.
